Chinese /Indian has always been the superior race, they fell behind in the last couple hundred of years only because they were less violent like the white race and didn’t go colonize and kill everyone. I’m American and have always gotten along quite well with my Chinese / Indian coworkers. I was on a majority Chinese team before and still got promoted. In fact I think they liked to “deploy” me when we had to deal with Americans (esp managers) from other teams.
Were they Chinese or Indian American or naturalized citizens or fobs that immigrated in the last couple years? It makes all the difference.
This is what I was hoping it would be like! It isn't that I dislike my coworkers, but it's just clear I will never have any scope and I will be first for pip/layoffs. You basically get locked out of any growth in these extreme situations. Hence why I ask if there are places where I could find a better situation (sounds like you already have this).

Work in defense, aerospace, or government jobs. Any job that requires clearance. Naturalized citizens will qualify but they are more mature and easy to work with. Anduril is a good one for example.
Our only solution is an M7 MBA -> Consulting/PE/IB/PM/BizDev path. Come join me in the GMAT struggle buddy. You don’t need an MBA to be a PM. If you’re a SWE, it’s common to make that switch
@Netflix, you’re correct. At this rate, who knows whether PM won’t be completely eliminated as a potential career?? The MBA is for optionality if you strike out on one path. Easier to recruit into multiple roles while at a top MBA. Like if you do a consulting internship at an MBB and realize it’s not your path, you just recruit for IB in your second year. Didn’t like your VC internship, just recruit for Biz Dev. Didn’t like being a PM over the summer, recruit for LDP or consulting or whatever. People hate MBAs but a top one gives you a lot of options to reset your career. OP is like me and wants to leave this stupid industry for something more “American”. An MBA is the only way. Contrary to popular opinion, you’re not going to be unemployed after a H/S/W/Kellog/Booth/CBS/Sloan/Haas/Tuck/ Yale SOM/ Fuqua/ Darden / Ross / Anderson / Marshall MBA program. OP just needs to squeeze his way into one of them. It’s the only legitimate path forward in my opinion. I spent the past few months researching this. Now all I do is study for the GMAT lol. Fuck SWE.
Apple is still pretty white/American, at least the SWE teams. Hardware is more Asian due to the need to work closely with China

I think your best bet would be startups (the white boy club) followed by relocating outside of the Bay Area. Look for cities that are less homogeneous such as Washington, Denver, New-York, Chicago or Sacramento. Maybe Boston too? Another option would be to look for companies that are remote first since they tend to hire across the US. PS: I've worked at 3 companies in the Bay Area with predominantly Indians and Chinese engineers and no one would ever speak their native language (English is a common language in India). This is just my one experience but maybe you just need to avoid a few companies like Meta, Bytedance, or other companies where the founding partners are Chinese and you'll be fine?
Lol what the fuck are you talking about? Startups are literally the domain of anyone who files for an LLC. You don't get to pretend there's a "white boy club" just to balance out the fact big tech is full of racist exclusionary ethnic mafias from India, China, etc. Startups are by definition the one place nobody can be stopped from entering. If you see white over-representation in startups, it's because those engineers got tired of spending all their bandwidth on politics and went somewhere where they didn't face constant discrimination and harassment.

With female founding teams securing roughly 1% to 2% of VC dollars. Pretty sure "young white men" take minimal salaries to make big bets on new tech because they literally have no choice. Meanwhile, the ethnic mafias at FAANG get to rest and vest, and you hate that "the whites" literally have anything left. You wish that they would just disappear entirely, don't you?
